My Policies

The Economy

One of my major goals is to make America a land of opportunity. In order to do so, we must empower the middle class by cutting taxes. As your Representative I will lower taxes, allowing you to spend your money on the things you want and need rather than what the government wants you to do. Not only will this give the power back to the people, but will also strengthen our economy. The more money that the American public has, the more money they will spend, and the stronger our financial systems will become. Additionally, this will allow more Americans to create new businesses, furthering our economy, and returning America to the world economic power we all know it can be. However, if we do not reduce federal spending, our nation will only go deeper into debt. As an experienced politician, I know the amount of money our government wastes.

Education

Charter Schools are the best way forward for our country. Our public schools are failing and have been for years. They do not provide the education our children deserve. They have horrible student to faculty ratios, underpaid and under-motivated staff, and near-zero resources. While Independent schools often work better, it is unacceptable to assume every family in this country can afford to go to private schools. However, there is a perfect balance between between the two: Charter schools. These schools provide a better student to teacher ratio, more experienced educators, more resources, and an equal chance for everyone. They are free for all and currently use a lottery system to determine who is able to go to them. In order to encourage states to create more charter schools to replace their current public schools, we are significantly decreasing our education budget. The funds we keep will be used to incentivize states, distributing them for every student enrolled in a charter school. This will increase our education standards and give you more of a say in your child’s education.

Our Troops

We must keep some troops in the Middle East to train pro-democratic militias and found and protect new, Democratic leadership and governments. Let alone the terrorist groups in place, Russia and other actors continue to support undemocratic leadership, and withdrawing our troops would simply lead to more violence and put more American lives in danger. Similarly, it is vital to the security of our nation that we support Israel, our major ally in the region. In the midst of conflict and violence in Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan, we must empower allies with similar interests as ourselves. In the end, our goal is to be able to bring all of our troops home while ensuring democracy exists around the globe.

Foreign Relations

Our number one goal is to protect ourselves and our democracy from outside dangers. For instance, we must ensure that the American people are the only ones who have a say in the election of their representatives and President. Our voting system is weak, and easily influenced by bad actors, from Russia to fraudulent voters, to our own, increasingly biased media.

However, we must also work with other world powers to better ourselves. We must remove the tariffs placed on Chinese goods. Rather than hurt Chinese manufacturers, these tariffs have simply hurt the working class people of the United States. China has been, and will continue to be a strong nation we cannot ignore. In order to regain our status as a dominant power, and keep jobs in America, we need to work with China, not against. This method will not only enable us to dominate global trade, by also increase American jobs, and bolster our economy.

Helathcare

We as a country must value the lives of each and every American, born or unborn. Therefore, abortion should be legal if a woman became pregnant by abusive or uncontrollable circustances, or faces significant danger in birthing a child. However, we must take a stand to protect those who cannot protect themselves, limiting abortion to dire situations. We should also remove the burden of healthcare from the federal government, so that care can be efficient and first-rate. Allowing healthcare systems to run separately can lead to an increase in doctor-patient ratios, while lowering waiting periods because of the variety of healthcare options.

Immigration

Today millions of people come into our nation illegally either by crossing our southern border or by overstaying their visas. This puts American lives at risk.  However, America is a refuge for those who wish to escape violence and danger. We have laws in place to accept legal immigrants and refugees. Yet, our legal immigration system is too slow, so we hope to streamline this system. Still, we must protect our nation from illegal immigrants and the danger they bring.

Gun Rights

I do not support the currently proposed gun legislation. Some background checks are necessary to protect our children from mentally ill individuals, however guns cannot be banned altogether. It is the Constitutional right of Americans to have a gun. Should we really alter our Constitution because of a few bad apples?

The Environment

Climate change may be threat, however rapid change in policies can cause the leave the millions of coal, oil, and natural gas workers out of jobs. Additionally, this change will destroy our automobile industry, causing the firing of millions more, and hurting the Americans most in need of money. Change in environmental policy should be a gradual process. Creating new jobs in renewable energy will push our economy, and by default our workers away from fossil fuels so we can progress to a more sustainable environment.
