ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Max

WHERE I COME FROM
My father, a legal Cuban immigrant, moved to this country in search for a better, democratic life away from the evils of Castro and Communist Cuba. As a result, he felt indebted to the nation that saved him, and enlisted as a Corporal in the United States Army. This job meant that he was gone forty weeks out of the year, leaving my mother alone to raise me and my three sisters in Detroit. We had nothing. But, my mother always told me, “It does not matter what you can do Maxi, it only matters what you really do”. Because of her, I stayed in school rather than joining a gang and selling drugs. And it paid off. When my father got restationed to Houston, we moved with him. And after four years of hard work, despite the appalling conditions of my public high school and the faculty within, I graduated first in my class.
A THRIVING CAREER
After High School, I enlisted in the Marines, graduating as a Second Lieutenant, and immediately began my first of two tours in Afghanistan. After ending my second tour, I received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Military, and returned home. The only job I could find was through a friend of a friend as a floor level manufacturer at the Sparrow Company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Through sheer hard work and grit, I made my way up the corporate ladder to become Vice President of the company, realizing the American Dream in just five years. Then, in only four years of being Vice President, I doubled the company’s stock value. Yet, I knew I could do more. So, I decided to run for a position in the House of Representatives. After a hard campaign, I won, and did my best for the people of Fort Lauderdale, pushing through many bills including the Veterans Education Assistance Act, leading to my reelection. And now, I still know I can do more to help the people of this beautiful country into the future we all deserve.
MISSION STATEMENT
An America For You
For me, this campaign is not about a title, it is not about power, but rather, it is about you. I believe that any elected official, from a union rep. to a Congressman to the President must fight for what it best for the people whom they represent, not what will advance their own career. Politics today are too divisive, and as a result do not help you, the American Public. My campaign is showing the Washington Bigwigs that a true representative and true American does their job the right way.
